Cresco Labs, a Chicago-based cannabis company, recently announced its plans to acquire a rival and become the largest cannabis company in the United States. Trulieve Cannabis is a medical marijuana company that has a strong presence in Florida, controlling approximately 51% of the state's market. The acquisition is expected to close in December and will create the largest cannabis company by revenue and the number one wholesaler of branded cannabis products. OrganiGram has a five-year partnership with Canndoc, the largest producer of medical marijuana in Israel.
Under their agreement, OrganiGram supplies 3000 kilograms of dried flower products to Canndoc every year for sale in the Israeli medical marijuana industry. Tilray partnered with Sandoz, a subsidiary of Novartis, to share the brand, distribute and sell medical marijuana in legal markets around the world. Tilray was also the first Canadian company to export medical marijuana to the United States for clinical testing. Innovative Industrial Properties is another major player in the cannabis industry.
Unlike other cannabis giants that produce cannabis and cannabis-derived products, Innovative Industrial Properties focuses on selling and leasing land and facilities needed to grow those products. This list only includes major cannabis companies that are listed on the stock exchange and excludes other cannabis companies.
